The 14th Japan-China Symposium on Coal and C1 Chemistry

Dear all Participants,
As you may be known by media report, the magnitude 7 earthquake hit Iburi Subprefecture in southern Hokkaido, Japan in the night of September 6 and it caused the extensive damage.

We, 148th Committee on Coal and Carbonaceous Resources Utilization Technology (JSPS) have been examined for holding of “The 14th Japan-China Symposium on Coal and C1 Chemistry” while collecting information including the suffering situation of City of Sapporo and meeting place facilities and the electricity supply and demand in board meeting and were decided as followed.

In the Sapporo convention center which would become the meeting place, a part has been used as a refuge until September 9.
On September 10, the safe check by City of Sapporo and the facilities operator were carried out.
The city official said, “it is necessary to entrust a specialty supplier with check for some damaged ceiling facilities in the coliseums of the center, and a conclusion does not appear until September 21”.
And that means they are not so sure when an event will be possible at the moment.

Considering such circumstances, we deeply regret to inform you the cancellation of [The 14th Japan-China Symposium on Coal and C1 Chemistry] on Sep.25th to 28th.

For now, we are examining about the repayment of the registration fee.
But we have to say we will spend it as an expense of the publication of the Proceeding.
There would be possibility not to be able to perform repayment.

An announcement Certificate, the symposium cancellation Certificate will come to be issued on our website.

It also will be available to be downloaded the Proceeding.
We will inform you the details on our website as soon as we prepare to announce.

We highly appreciate your understanding this situation.

Sincerely yours,

Takauyuki Takarada
Chairman of “The 14th Japan-China Symposium on Coal and C1 Chemistry”

对「The 14th Japan-China Symposium on Coal and C1 Chemistry」的召开作出如下决定:

鉴于以上原因,决定取消本次大会「The 14th Japan-China Symposium on Coal and C1 Chemistry」(9月25日~28日)的举办,特此通知各位.
