The delegation members from the Faculty of Engineering, Thammasat University were welcomed by the Faculty of Engineering, Hokkaido University on Thursday June 15. Asso. Prof. Prapat Wangskarn (Dean of Faculty of Engineering), Asso.Prof. Chainarong Chaktranond (Assistant to the Rector), Asst.Prof. Monchai Pruekwilailert (Deputy Dean of Faculty of Engineering), and Ms. Jantima Thongpiam, Secretary of Twining Engineering Program visited our campus to discuss future collaboration specially in the filed of mechanical engineering. Prof. Yukinori Kobayashi (Dean of Graduate School of Engineering), Prof. Norihiro Izumi (Director of International Exchange Office), Prof. Nobuyuki Oshima and Prof. Masao Watanabe joined the discussion.
Assistant Prof. Somchai Pornchaiviat and 10 students from Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Kingmongkut’s Univeristy of Technology, North Bangkok visited the Faculty of Engineering on Tues., January 17th. Coordinator Natalya SHMAKOVA gave a brief overview of Hokkaido University and e3 English Engineering Education program. The group then visited Laboratory of Energy Conversion Systems, Division of Energy and Environmental Systems. They listened to the explanation about the research topics by Assoc. Prof. Tabe, and looked experimental equipment of the laboratory with great interest.
Faculty of Engineering welcomed visitors from Kasetsart University, Thailand on July 25th, 2016. Dean Toyoharu NAWA and Prof. Tamon UEDA (Div. of Engineering and Policy for Sustainable Environment) from Faculty of Engineering greeted the delegation giving a short presentation of Hokkaido University and Faculty of Engineering. The very first visit of new year was from Kasetsart University, King Mongkut University of Technology Thonburi, Royal Irrigation Department and Thai Meteorological Department in Thailand. 10 Thai delegates including Mr Nontawat Junjareon Honorary Advisor to Dean at Faculty of Engineering, KU, visited here together with Prof Taikan OKI from Inst. of Industrial Sci., the University of Tokyo. On the last day of May 2014, 5 visitors from SIIT (Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology), Thammasat University in Thailand arrived at Hokkaido University. Prof. Dr. Somnuk Tangtermsirikul SIIT Director, Prof. Dr. Thanaruk Theeramunkong School of ICT Head, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalie Charoenlarpnopparut and two other members came to Hokkaido to confirm the current collaborations between two universities, and talk about further academic and research collaboration possibilities. In the vernal 3rd week of May, Faculty of Engineering welcomed visitors from the Quality Assurance Forum of the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (QA, CUPT). 23 members were a part of the delegates visiting Hokkaido University for 4 days in this comfortable spring month, and composed with faculty members at Chulalongkorn Univ., King Mongkut’s Univ. of Tech. North Bangkok, Rajamangala Univ. of Tech. It dates back to February 2014 that Memorandum of Understanding on Internship Exchange Programme was concluded between Faculty of Engineering at Kasetsart University, Thailand and Faculty, Graduate School and School of Engineering, Hokkaido University. Dean Naoshi BABA and Prof. Osamu FUJITA (Div. of Mechanical and Space Engineering) from Faculty of Engineering, HU and 2 other members visited KU on Friday 21 February, and concluded the MoU with Dean Thanya KIATIWAT at Faculty of Engineering, KU. In these three months, Engineering building has welcomed three groups of visitors from Thailand, and the third group was Dean Thanya Kiatiwat and other Faculty members at Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University. Four visitors from a tropical country arrived in rainy and chilly Sapporo on the 11th of October. They spent almost a whole day on the campus, and whose time schedule was as tight and intense as prospective students’ one on open day. His Excellency Phongthep Thepkanjana, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and a Thai delegates to observe the vocational education in Japan visited Hokkaido University on the 21st of August, the 1st day of their stay in Hokkaido. In a morning drizzle outside, they came to the campus directly from New Chitose Airport and were welcomed by a shower of applause. Prof. Mutsumi Takagi Deputy Dean at Faculty of Engineering appreciated their visit and emphasised his and the university’s connection and sympathy with Thailand. On the 8th of August, there were the delegates from Rajamangala University of Technology in Thailand vising Hokkaido University (HU). Since 2008, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) has kept an affiliation with Faculty of Engineering, Graduate School and School of Engineering at HU. For this time, the delegates consisted of not only RMUTT, but also other branch schools of Rajamangala University of Technology such as that in Krungthep, Tawan-ok, Phranakhon, Srivijaya, Suvarnabhumi, and Isan. The delegates were welcomed by Dean at Faculty of Engineering, and listened to a presentation about the recent circumstances in international exchange at HU.
