Dr. Dmitry Bespalov, Vice President and Mr. Taskin Andrei, Cheif Specialist at the Department of Innovation Development, Far Eastern Federal University, Russia visited Faculty of Engineering on Wed., March 8th to discuss future collaboration in the field of reserach and academic exchange. They were wecolmed by Dean Toyoharu NAWA and Prof. Tsuyoshi SETOGUCHI, Division of Architectual and Structural Design, and Prof. Osamu Fujita, from International Exchange Office.
Prof Luchcova, Dean of the School of Architecture and three faculty from Pacific National University made a courtesy visit to Dean Nawa on Monday 16 March, 2015. We had a discussion regarding future exchange program and will continue adjustment and elaboration of the plan. This visit accompanied with an opening of basic RJE3 course (trial) from 16 March to 20 March.
Prof Edward Crawley, President, and Prof Mikhail Myagkov, Vice-President for Academic Outreach and International Relations from Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, Russia visited Faculty of Engineering, HU. Following a courtesy visit to the President, Prof Keizo Yamaguchi, the two visitors were welcomed by Dean Nawa, Prof Setoguchi in Division of Architectural and Structural Design, Prof Fujita in Division of Mechanical and Space Engineering, Mr Toshiyasu Sugiyama,Director of International Affairs Office of Engineering, and Ms Natalya Shmakova, e3 programme coordinator at Faculty of Engineering, and visited Prof Nawa’s Laboratory of Eco-materials and Resources. As the second visit since this June, Prof Dr. Vera I. Luchkova, Dean at Faculty of Architecture & Design, and Ms Dana V. Basharymova, Organisational Activity Department at Office of International Affairs from Pacific National University, Russia are visiting Faculty of Engineering, HU. On Friday 19 December 2014, the 1st RJE3 Symposium will be held at Suzuki Hall, Hokkaido University. On 1 October 2014, JSPS Japan Society for the Promotion of Science announced the selection result of ‘FY 2014 Re-Inventing Japan Project’ by MEXT Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology – Japan. The FY 2014 project targets the improvement of educational cooperation with institutions in Russia and India, two of the countries which have gained much presence in international society with their economic growth in recent years, and which country leaders have confirmed the importance to attach a weight to educational collaboration between their and Japanese institutions. Basharymova, Organisational Activity Department at Office of International Affairs from Pacific National University, Russia. The memorial seminar by Mr. A.V. Horoshavin the governor of Sakhalin, Russia was held successfully at Open Hall, Engineering bldg., Hokkaido University on the 21st of November 2013. This seminar was organised by the governor’s strong desire to talk in front of young promising audiences in the Engineering field. The venue was packed by not only the HU students/scholars, but also people from engineering/building/financial industries which seeked for further business chances, administrative organs and the public, and the total audiences were more than 400. On the 21st of November, there will be a visit by Mr. A.V. Horoshavin the governor of Sakhalin, Russia to Sapporo, and his memorial seminar will be held at Engineering Building 1, Hokkaido University. Sakhalin is the closest region of Russia to Hokkaido, and the land’s end is actually visible from Cape Soya in Wakkanai the northern-most city of Japan. Mr. Horoshavin will talk about the current development situation and the prospective development in Sakhalin, and also business exchange between his region and Hokkaido.
