Faculty of Engineering welcomed 40 students and 2 lecturers from Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore on Friday, September 18, 2015.

First, welcome speech was given by Vice Dean Yukinori KOBAYASHI. Following the speech, the party enjoyed the two separated sessions. The first half was “Introduction of Faculty of Engineering and Special Programs”, and the second half was “Laboratory Tour”.

During the introduction session, Prof. Toshifumi IGARASHI, Director at International Exchange Office provided introduction of faculty of Engineering. e3 introduction by Ms Natalya SHMAKOVA, e3 program coordinator at Faculty of Engineering , and the introduction of CEED by Specially-appointed Prof. Toru YAMASHITA were also given. Nanyang students  listened these introductions carefully with interests.

The latter half was Lab Tour. Some laboratories from the divisions of Human Mechanical Systems and Design and Mechanical and Space Engineering  in which students are specially interested were selected. Many professors and students involved in this tour. Students were divided into 3-4 groups and took a look at the inside of different laboratories. Not only the lab tour, Department of Mechanical and Space Engineering also prepared the video presentation of rocket launching experiment.

Even though it was a tight schedule, we are hoping many Nanyang students are now more interested in Engineering research, and having bigger interests in study abroad in Japan.
