2014 World Festival in Ishikari

posted in: Information | 0

NPO I.I.A. Ishikari International Association has held ‘World Festival’ annually since 2003, with support by local ALTs (Assistant Language Teacher a foreign national acting as a teaching assistant) – in Ishikari-shi, a neighbour city of Sapporo.

It was originally an international event for elementary and junior high school students to get close to foreign culture, but since 2009, it has been re-designed as an event for all the generations, welcoming various foreigners including JICA researchers and requesting them to hold booths to introduce their countries or perform on the stage.  2013 World Festival collected 88 participants from 17 countries and regions, about 40 volunteered staff and 350 visitors.

2014 World Festival will be held on Sunday 5 October, and welcome not only walk-in visitors, but also performers and booth participants.
